Education and Conflict Course at Georgetown University-Qatar – A project of Protect Education in
Insecurity and Conflict (PEIC)

The one-credit course at Georgetown University titled ‘Education and Conflict’, began as a
partnership in 2020 and aims to emphasise the plight of learners unable to access education in
situations of conflict. The course highlights the global responses to address and remedy the
issue, with a focus on legal mechanisms, cultural advocacy, data, and an in-depth review of a
specific domestic context (Rwanda). The course, internally led by PEIC, received guest lectures
from EAC as well as HBKU-QCRI.
