Empowering Youth as Global Citizens in Conflict-Affected Areas for Peacebuilding – A project of Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) and Protection of Education in Conflict (PEIC)

The project, a collaboration between EAA and Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI), helps restore peace, stability and resilience in the conflict affected areas of Uganda and South Sudan. By harnessing the power of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and Sustainable Development Goal 4, in particular the seventh target, the project aims to build a network of peacebuilders across the regions of Acholi (Northern Uganda), Eastern Equatoria, Western Equatoria State, and Central Equatoria State (South Sudan). The main purpose of the project is to empower youth aged 15-24 years, local community leaders, and members with knowledge and skills essential for human rights advocacy to education, and sustainable development to become active global citizens, peace advocates and changemakers.
