The online side event titled ‘How can Education Contribute to Peace Building’ included a distinguished presentation by The Right Honourable Ms Wendy Morton M.P, The Minister for European Neighbourhoods and The Americas at the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office. The event focussed on the critical role that education plays within complex peace processes and enabling populations to find alternative solutions to conflict and end long-term violence. The discussions also contributed to the global debate around the important need to prioritise and finance education as part of countries’ COVID-19 recovery efforts, making education systems more resilient.
