Quality Equitable Primary Education for OOSC– A project of Educate A
Child (EAC)
Country: Cameroon, Chad, Kenya, Iraq, Malawi, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Rwanda, South Sudan,
Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Yemen
EAC, in partnership with UNHCR, builds on their previous
successful collaborations, to roll out their fourth partnership project to provide access to
quality primary education for OOSC. The project is consistent with UNHCR’s education strategy-
inclusion of all children into national systems- and is fully aligned with Sustainable
Development Goal (SDG) 4. The project primarily focuses on refugees and, in a few specific
countries, internally displaced populations (IDPs), it also includes local populations as per
the approach consistent with the Global Compact on Refugees.
In three years (2020-2022),
this partnership project, aims to enrol 364,857 OOSC across 14 countries, which include ten of
the 12 countries from the previous projects (Chad, Kenya [Dadaab and Kakuma], Malaysia,
Pakistan, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Syria and Yemen) and four new countries namely
Cameroon, Iraq, Malawi and Mexico.
