Afghan Emergency Education Project – a project of Innovation Development Directorate (IDD), supported by Educate a Child International (EACI)

To help Afghan refugee children access uninterrupted learning that is relevant and holistic, the IDD team developed a three-month emergency education program in the Dari and Pashto languages. The program consists of a collection of learning materials that are cost-free and require fewer resources. The Afghan Emergency Education Package includes survival English, social emotional learning, life skills, numeracy, English literacy, English and Math game books and host country packages to help with the transition. Some of the resources were translated by Afghan refugee girls in Qatar and included audio recordings with instructions for some of the resources to help volunteers implement them. The package supports different levels of learners (4 to 16 years) and is available on the website for free global use. EACI disseminated the IDD educational materials to networks educating refugees and to international NGOs. Free online training was also conducted for schools in three County Councils.
